The Hold Steady slam Radiohead

The Hold Steady's Tad Kubler has criticised Radiohead for cathartic their last album In Rainbows on a pay-what-you-like scheme.

Speaking to BBC 6Music, Kubler as well confessed that he dislikes the musical direction the British band has taken in recent years.

"I think they've lost the plot," he stated. "What ar they doing? Where are they leaving? What's natural event? I don't get it anymore. They lost me.

"I still apprise what they're doing, or what they're trying to do. But I think they're trying too toilsome not to be Radiohead. That seems a short ridiculous to me.

"I like them as a rock music band, [it's] all the buttons and sequencing and stuff like that I don't really care for. I'm a fan of rock music and what they're doing now I don't conceive is very good."

Brooklyn-based bikers The Hold Steady, world Health Organization played a set at last weekend's V Festival, will embark on a UK circuit in September.

Seacrest, Clark Permanent Rockin' Duo

It's official. Ryan Seacrest has another job.

On Friday, ABC and Dick Clark Productions proclaimed the American Idol host will be joining Clark's long-time New Year's Eve special as a permanent co-host with Clark, and executive manufacturer through 2010.

The show's new name, appropriately called Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, reflects the radio deejay's success in co-hosting "one of America's most time-honored traditions," Orly Adelson, executive director producer and president of Dick Clark Productions, said in a statement.

Seacrest coupled the program in December 2005, temporarily replacing Dick Clark who suffered a stroke earlier that month. Clark still appeared on the 'o5 air but his speech had been affected.

Today's announcement is a retentive time advent for Seacrest, who signed a deal back in 2005 that would finally make him the program's host. Last year's circulate was the top-rated New Year's Eve show, draftsmanship 29-million viewers by midnight.
